On April 20, 2010 a great woman left this earth. Not only was she my Sorority's 10th National President, her tremendous work in Civil Rights made this world a bit more tolerable for us all....Black, White, Hispanic but more importantly the Human Race! Her presence on this earth has left an indelible mark on all of mankind. Sor...or Dorothy Height....as you join Omega Omega Chapter....your life's work will live with us forever!

To the Family and Friends of the Late Dr. Dorothy I. Height . . . may the blessings of the Lord be upon you and your Family at this time. Dr. Height was an earth mover, shaker, and an ardent and sincere giving Woman, who thought first on, "The Things of Others."

How remarkable she was, and by the grace of God, hopefully her labor and contributions to mankind will not be forgotten, and only if we will continue to perpetuate and keep afresh, the memories of the sacrifices that she and others of her caliber have made in behalf of "ALL!"

No! We will not forget . . .

Sincerely,

Eld. C.D. Knowles, Jr.

A Note from Heaven

If I could write from Heaven, this is what I'd say, Please don't miss me too much, I'm with you throughout your day.
You my not see or hear me, but if you're quiet and still, You may just feel my presence: because, in heaven, there is free will.

I am blessed to have known Dr. Height, she was truely a blessing in my life. I am a member of the National Council of Negro Women and I learned and grown mentally so much by listening, observing and being an active member. Dr. Height was a true foot solider and she will be missed. I can still see her smile and her warm and friendly manner. May her family rejoice in the blessings and joy she brought to the world. To my sister Dorothy I. Height I say farewell and I thank God for your life.

I have memeories that will never leave my heart and mind about the 3 years I worked for NCNW under Dr. Height. I had the honor of driving her to and from the VA office on many days and during those times, I had the remarkable experience of listening to her recall many things about her life that were both amusing and historic. What a privilege and a blessing!!

It is only fitting that she be eulogized by President Obama while flags in this country are lowered to acknowledge our loss and mourning of this great woman!!She gave her all for the good of man and womankind!

God bless her!!

To the Family : To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. This is not a time for tears . It is a time for rejoicing . A life was lived without any hatred , missunderstanding , jelousy or remorse . So we should all be rejoicing with Sis. Heights as she has accepted her reward . May God continue to bless you and Dr. Heights as her work may live on .
