Brenda  J. Boone Whitman

Brenda J. Boone Whitman departed on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

Ms. Brenda J. Whitman passed away at the Bradford Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, MD due to a long illness after suffering a stroke in 2001.

Ms. Whitman was born on May 22, 1942 in Bethlehem, PA and attended Catholic Schools there before going on to Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She left college to work at the Library of Congress before becoming an Executive Assistant at Howard University"s Law School and retiring from there in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pedro and Kathryn Boone of Bethlehem PA; brother, Mr. Robert D. Boone; and younger sister, Ms. Valerie G. Boone.

She is survived by Ms. Whitman is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Dawkins (Andre) of Chesapeake, VA and Angela Brown (Rodney) of Waldorf, MD and five grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Tricia Boone Proctor, Esq. and husband, MG (Ret.) Hawthorne L. Proctor of Clifton, VA; and a nephew, Mr. Brian Boone of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Her long-time companion, Mr. Robert Hartridge of Washington, DC, became her "mainstay" during her illness and remained by her side until her passing. We would like to thank Ms. Juanita Hines, a long-time friend, and her family for their caring friendship of our dear loved one!
